The Frog Prince Team
The Frog Prince is a soft toy our daughter Sophie got as a present when she was born. He is playing a lullaby, is soft and lovely, and of course he is green…And the Frog Prince is a famous Fairy tale of the German brothers Grimm (The Frog Prince Story). That’s how we became the Frog Prince – Mummy&Me, catering for Mums to be, newborn, toddlers and children up to 5 years. Now I would love for you to meet our team.Dagmar Rohrbach
Hi, I'm Dagmar. We came to Oamaru in December 07, straight from Germany. We intended to stay a year, have a good time, get to know people and country and go back... well, here we are! We are settling in so nicely. My husband Chris is a GP at Central Medical practice and our daughter Sophie who just turned 2, has a Kiwi accent already. Opening a shop was one of my childhood dreams and I am really enjoying our froggy place. This is thanks to the people in Oamaru who are supporting us and, of course, thanks to the great team of mums and mums-to-be. The Frog Prince is meant to be more than a retail shop; it is place to catch up, to meet and to make friends.
Laura Crane
Hi, I’m Laura Crane. I have two wonderful girls Sienna and Isabelle, aged 1 year and 5 years. My family is from Oamaru - I was raised here from the age of 13 - before heading off to university and off on the big OE.... which lasted quite a few years! My husband and I settled back here in Oamaru in 2006 as it is a great place to raise a family. Our extended family, the pace of life, the peace and tranquility are just a few of the drawcards of life in Oamaru. My own interests are wide and varying. Aside from looking after the children, I seem to find time to tutor mathematics, stargaze, read sci-fi and exercise. Oh, and I love Indian cooking too!!!
Adele McKirdy
My profession is teaching but as a person who likes change, challenge and a people orientated environment, I have worked and lived in a variety of places and situations including a short-term teaching stint in Tanzania.
One significant experience for our whole family, when the children were young, was a two-year term in the Solomon Islands.
I have a wide variety of interests but am particularly fond of the outdoors including tramping and biking.
It is great to be working at The Frog Prince and I look forward to meeting and interacting with people from the local and wider area.
Rebecca Dixon
Hey, I'm Rebecca Dixon. I've just moved to Oamaru with my wonderful partner Ed, who was born and raised here or more precisely Papakaio, where he works on his family dairy farm. I'm originally from London, UK and I'm really enjoying your Kiwi hospitality. We met in Europe whilst he was on his OE. Together we ran ski lodges in the French resort of Meribel and worked on Lake Como in Italy during the summer until there was enough snow to ski on and then we'd head back to the mountains.Last September we welcomed a new baby Florence into our world. It is fantastic to start our new family here in Oamaru!
Elizabeth Isbister
Hi, I'm Elizabeth Isbister. My lovely husband Daniel and I run a dairy farm in Papakaio near Oamaru. We are parents to our darling Stuart who is two. Stuart is a lot of fun and keeps us entertained in all kinds of ways. We enjoy being parents so much that we thought we would expand the family - our new addition is due in October. Before I became a Mum I worked full time as a Youth Worker for a local charitable trust. It was a challenging but hugely rewarding position and I look back on that time with great fondness. Now my interests are mostly related to being a Mum (although I still have a bit of a soft spot for teenagers), but I am also trying to keep up my skills (however small) on a couple of musical instruments, watch movies, read books, catch up with friends, cook interesting things and generally have plenty of fun.
